Guatemalan Dinner

Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner

Please plan to attend the annual Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner Saturday, November 22nd after the 4:00 Mass downstairs in Borromeo Hall.  There is no cost to attend but there is a free-will collection to support our programs that help the people of Guatemala year-around.  100% of what you give directly supports Guatemala.

Hor d'Oeuvres, wine, music by our music director Madalyn begins the evening followed by a traditional turkey dinner, dessert, and guest speaker.

This year's speaker is Tom Turner.  Tom serves as the Director of the Catholic Student Internship Program with Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas.  For the past three summers, Tom has led groups of Catholic College students on a
week-long Retreat-Service Mission trip to Guatemala.  Tom's interaction with Guatemala dates back to 1980 when he traveled there to visit his cousin who was serving as a missionary nun.  Over the years Tom has returned to Guatemala many times and has twice spent a month attending language school to deepen his cultural and linguistic understanding.  Incidentally, Tom was our first guest speaker of this dinner almost 40 years ago.

Please Call Mary Ann Glenski - 816-436-2836 or Jean Diebold 816-436-1020 for reservations.
